Stretch Test On Amsteel Dyneema

AmSteel Dyneema® doesn’t stretch much, right? Well we’re going to find out. Taking a steering cable that we are going to be reproducing, made out of AmSteel Dyneema® with bolts on the ends. We need to make sure that what our splice length ends up as, isn’t stretched so much that the bolts at the ends can’t be tightened properly. Something I have found in the past is that when we load up the AmSteel Dyneema®, it does have a fair bit of what we call constructional creep, or elongation, at first. So we’re going to use our load wall to pre stretch this line and see how much stretch we get.
